JET AIRWAYS 2.0 WILL THE AIRLINE TOUCH THE SKY AGAIN?

A Jet Airways Boeing 777-300ER aircraft at Chattrapati Shivaji International Airport (BOM) in Mumbai ready for it’s departure to London-Heathrow(LHR) back in 2017.

After almost 18 months of ceasing operations, a ray of hope has emerged for the defunct airline as the airline’s creditor have approved a fresh plan for the airline to resume it’s operations in coming months, but experts are sceptical at the moment.

The fall of Jet Airways
Jet Airways which was one of the best airline in India at a time was forced to suspend it’s operations temporarily on April 17, 2019. Later the airline’s founder and then CEO Naresh Goyal stepped down and in June 2019, the airline announced bankruptcy and insolvency as it failed to repay remaining debt.
Jet’s losses had started mounting since 2018 and the airline saw its losses widen to roughly Rs 5,536 crore in  March 2019. However, Jet’s debt surged by thousands of crores last year — to the point where the airline could not even meet daily operational costs.
The fall of the airline left a deep scar on almost 10,000 Jet employees who were not paid by the company for months and the crisis pushed them a bit more towards darkness. The majority of the employees were recruited by other Indian airlines like Vistara and Spice Jet.

Jet’s revival plan
After being out of the aviation industry for over a year, a ray of hope has emerged for the bankrupt airline as the panel of airline’s creditor have approved a potential revival plan for the airline to resume operations.
The approval plan is submitted by UK based Kalrock Capital and UAE based entrepreneur Murari Lal Jalan who are looking forward to put the airline back into action.
With no further information provided, the aviation experts are sceptical at the moment about the company’s revival and said that it’s gnarly for the creditors to bring the company back in action.
The approval of revival plan is welcomed by the remaining employees of the company with great gusto and they say that:”Their is always light at the end of tunnel”.
